1. What are cookies?
Cookies and other similar technologies are data storage and retrieval devices that are installed on the user’s terminal equipment when they visit a website, and which allow, among other things, information about the browsing habits of the user or their device to be stored and retrieved.
The website www.closeeyesstudio.com (hereinafter, "the Website") is owned by David Berrocoso Salmeron, hereinafter Close Eyes Studio, and uses its own and third-party cookies in accordance with the provisions of Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE).
2. Types of cookies used
2.1. Depending on the entity that manages them
- First-party cookies: sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain managed by the Website’s Controller itself.
- Third-party cookies: sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a device or domain that is not managed by the Controller, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.
2.2. Depending on their purpose
- Technical or necessary cookies: those strictly necessary for the provision of the service requested by the user (for example, those enabling management of the shopping basket, the payment process, the user session or the security of the Website). These cookies are exempt from the duty to obtain the user’s consent in accordance with Article 22.2 LSSI-CE.
- Preference or personalisation cookies: allow information to be remembered so that the user accesses the service with certain characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users (for example, the language or the currency in which prices are displayed). Where it is the user themselves who makes the decision about these preferences, such cookies shall be considered technical and shall not require consent; if, on the contrary, it is the Controller who decides to activate them based on information obtained from the user, the corresponding consent will be requested.
- Analytics or measurement cookies: allow the number of users to be quantified and the measurement and statistical analysis of how users use the Website, with the aim of introducing improvements based on the analysis of usage data.
- Behavioural advertising cookies: store information on user behaviour obtained through the continuous observation of their browsing habits, which makes it possible to develop a specific profile in order to display advertising based on it.
2.3. Depending on the length of time they remain active
- Session cookies: designed to collect and store data while the user is accessing the Website, and deleted when the session ends.
- Persistent cookies: the data remain stored on the user’s terminal for a specified period, which may range from a few minutes to several years.
3. Cookies exempt from consent
In accordance with Article 22.2 LSSI-CE and the AEPD Guide, the user’s consent will not be requested for the installation of those cookies that are necessary for the operation of the Website or for the provision of the service expressly requested by the user, such as:
- User session maintenance cookies.
- Shopping basket management cookies.
- Security cookies (for example, protection against attacks or fraudulent use).
